Sunrise & Sunset in Doha

Early mornings are difficult in Doha if you have school-going kids. The kids invariably have to get up at around 5 am and get ready. Today, in the middle of such an ordeal, I was greeted by this spectacular sunrise. The sky turned from a bright red to a orange-yellow in a matter of minutes.
Sunset, Katara, Doha
Katara, or the Cultural Village, is one of my favorite haunts in Doha. The place never ceases to amaze me. It has been the place where I have met some of the most amazing people in Qatar. Nicos Economopoulos of Magnum is one such person.
I shot this sunset sometime ago. When I shot this image, I was fiddling with the exposure to ensure I didn’t blow out the highlights. I never saw the wiry tree in the middle. It was a pleasant surprise when I processed the image.
Almost tempts one to get up early!
