I am fond of taking portraits of people. I snap a lot of kids because I like the balance between posed and natural photo-ops they offer. This snap is that of my son’s friend.
I used a Minolta 50mm F/1.4 mounted on the Panasonic GF1 using a mount adapter. The adapter is kinda loose and moves a little bit. I use a ring cut out of plain paper as a washer. The lens is a gem. It becomes a 100mm F/1.4 lens in 35mm equivalence, perfect for portraits!
I used GIMP to convert the image to b&w. I decomposed the image to RGB channels and used the ‘R’ channel as the primary image. The other two channels were used as overlays with 50% transparencies to add a little more contrast.
